Event Services

The arena, the officials and the expertise to make an armoured combat programme work.

Discuss your programme

FAC supports events run by others with equipment, crew and practical advice. Services can be scoped individually or combined into an event programme with demonstrations and education.

For arts councils, preservation societies, libraries and humanities organisations, collaboration can begin before a grant application and continue through delivery and reporting. Grant requirements and the value of any donated contribution must be agreed for the specific programme.

Offering 01

Lyst Provision

A modular arena delivered, assembled and removed by FAC crew. Six-foot rail sections allow a compact duelling footprint or a 24 × 24-foot arena, with larger configurations subject to the venue and programme. The scoped package includes weights, protective capping and floor matting where needed.

Typical duration
Half or full day.
What FAC brings
Rails, weights, protective capping, agreed matting and the crew to assemble and strike.
What the host provides
A flat surface, agreed spectator and access clearance, a loading zone and vehicle access for delivery and collection.
Paid rate [1]
[RATE TBD] — request a scoped quotation.
Volunteer / in-kind terms [2]
[TERMS TBD] — volunteer or in-kind delivery is subject to an agreed scope and availability.

Offering 02

Matched to the combat schedule.
What FAC brings
Marshals with visible identification and their own protective equipment.

Typical duration
Matched to the event schedule.
What FAC brings
The MC and, if agreed, a sound system where the venue lacks one.
What the host provides
The running order, microphone or PA tie-in where available, and power if FAC supplies the system.

Typical duration
One to two hours, remotely or on site.
What FAC brings
An experienced FAC coordinator to review the proposed programme and venue requirements.
What the host provides
Proposed dates, audience size, venue details or plans, access information and the event’s objectives.
Paid rate [1]
[RATE TBD] — request a scoped quotation.
Volunteer / in-kind terms [2]
[TERMS TBD] — volunteer or in-kind delivery is subject to an agreed scope and availability.

Offering 05

Partnership & Grant Collaboration

FAC can work as a named 501(c)(3) cultural collaborator with arts councils, historical preservation societies, library systems and humanities organisations. Before an application, FAC helps scope programming, cost estimates, letters of support and a written scope. Following agreed delivery, FAC can supply attendance and participation data, audience reach, approved photography and a programme report. Any in-kind match is subject to the funder’s rules, acceptance and documentation requirements.

Typical duration
Scoping and reporting milestones agreed around the application and programme schedule.
What FAC brings
A cultural partner, programme expertise, agreed supporting documents, delivery personnel and reporting for FAC’s contribution.
What the host provides
The funder’s guidelines and deadlines, a lead applicant or coordinator, venue arrangements and the agreed reporting and consent requirements.
Paid rate [1]
[RATE TBD] — request a scoped quotation.
Volunteer / in-kind terms [2]
[TERMS TBD] — volunteer or in-kind delivery is subject to an agreed scope and availability.

Offering 06

Brewery & Tavern Partnerships

A “Pints for Knights” style community event can combine knight photographs, armour displays and a suitably scoped combat demonstration. Fundraising options may include an agreed percentage night or co-branded offering. Sponsorship, promotional activity and any revenue-sharing arrangement are discussed with the venue; attendance and sales are not guaranteed.

Typical duration
An evening or event block, with setup and activity times agreed with the venue.
What FAC brings
Fighters and display kit, coordination and the demonstration equipment included in the agreed scope.
What the host provides
A suitable event area, staging space, water and a venue contact; the venue manages its own food, beverage service and trading requirements.
Paid rate [1]
[RATE TBD] — event, sponsorship or fundraising arrangement to be agreed.
Volunteer / in-kind terms [2]
[TERMS TBD] — any donated delivery or fundraising contribution must be agreed in advance.
